About

Welcome to Mind of a Rising Phoenix.

This space is dedicated to healing, resilience, and the journey beyond trauma. My own path through a Complex PTSD diagnosis and addiction recovery hasn’t always been a straight line, but it has been deeply transformative. Like the phoenix, this space was born from the ashes of my darkest moments, dedicated to rising above the pain.

In the early days of my recovery, I found solace on the trails. Hiking became my therapy—a way to quiet the noise, connect with the earth, and prove to myself that I could keep moving forward, one step at a time. That connection to the outdoors remains a vital part of my story, whether I am exploring a quiet trail or enjoying a round of disc golf. When I am not outside, you can often find me seeking peace and focus by building intricate Lego sets.

The logo for this blog holds a deeply personal meaning. The figure standing on the cliff represents the perspective I’ve gained—looking out over the vastness of my life and realizing how far I’ve climbed. The golden phoenix rising alongside represents the rebirth that comes from surviving the fire of profound loss. It is a reminder that even from our deepest grief, we have the strength within us to heal, to grow, and to rise above the things that once weighed us down.

“The process of healing does not end when the wounds are no longer visible. It ends when the wounds no longer ache.”

Whether you are just starting your own journey or are well along the path, I hope you find a sense of community and hope here. We are all capable of rising.

A special thank you to my friend Tiffany for helping bring the beautiful logo for this space to life.
